High availability cloud

High availability Boston cloud servers

For workloads where downtime costs real money. These VMs live on a Proxmox cluster backed by Ceph NVMe storage, so a hardware failure means a short restart on another node instead of an outage.

Three copies of every block

Ceph stores your data on three separate nodes, so a failed drive or server never takes your disk with it.

Restarts on its own

The cluster watches every host. If one fails, your VM comes back up on a healthy node in about 60 to 120 seconds.

Maintenance without downtime

Live migration moves running VMs between nodes, so patching and hardware swaps happen without a reboot on your side.

Fast NVMe storage

Enterprise NVMe handles as many as a million IOPS at well under a millisecond, and the whole platform carries a 99.9% uptime guarantee.

Add-ons

BGP announcement

Announce your own prefixes from your Boston VPS for $25 per month. A valid ROA and origin ASN are required.

Extra IP addresses

Select additional IPv4 addresses during checkout, or contact us for pricing on larger blocks.

Custom builds

Need more RAM, storage or cores than a listed plan? We build custom Boston cloud servers on request.

Managed services

Hand off patching, monitoring and security to the Axcelx engineering team.

Boston virtual server questions

What is the difference between a standard Boston VPS and a high availability cloud server?

A standard Boston VPS runs on one KVM host with local RAID 10 storage. A high availability cloud server runs on a Proxmox cluster with Ceph NVMe storage copied to three nodes, so if a host fails the VM restarts on another node automatically within 60 to 120 seconds.

Which control panel do Boston Cloud Servers use?

Standard Boston VPS plans include a SolusVM control panel for power control, OS reinstalls and console access. High availability plans include a control panel and VNC console access.

Are the plans managed?

Standard plans are unmanaged KVM with full root access. Managed services are available through Axcelx Technologies if you want our team to handle updates, monitoring and security.

Can I announce my own IP space from a Boston VPS?

Yes. BGP announcement is available for $25 per month. You need a valid ROA and an origin ASN.

What uptime do high availability plans carry?

High availability plans include a 99.9% uptime guarantee. If we miss it, your account is credited, and billing stays month to month.

Can I get a custom Boston VPS configuration?

Yes. Custom CPU, RAM, storage and IP allocations are available on request. Contact sales at sales@bostonvps.com or 877-829-2359.
